Slow

There once was a woman who ate so slow
She ate as slow as the grass would grow
One night by mistake
She stayed up way past "late"
And was locked in the bakery alone
In the morning she was found still eating her scone
"Get out of here!" the employee said in a hollor
As she left she noticed the grass 7 inches taller
So she walked all the way back home
And heard a message on her telephone
"Wanna go out for coffee?
It'd be better than a latke.
I learned my lesson.
I guess it was a blessin."
So she called her back
And said, "I'm going to see a quack
To see if he can help me
To find out why I'm so unhappy
About me eating so slow
I've got a cookie in the fridge from 2 weeks ago."

The Perfectionist Hermit

Out in the wild she lives all alone
Around her house the fir trees have grown
Her house is made out of perfect bricks
Built out of all the finest picks
Her porch is kept so clean and tidy
That she'll even go out there in her nighty
She's got household gadgets galore
Through the mail always getting more
She's got a perfect napkin holder
That claims to be "anti-smolder"
She's got a fancy apple slicer
To cut them perfect and make them nicer
She perfects her kitchen and makes her tea
She dusts her mats and washes her key
She sprays the garbage with "B-Gone-Smell"
Washes flowers, tests her door bell
And everyday she sweeps and cleans
And will never ever stop by any means
I say, "For all this what is the reason?"
There's no people to impress in any season
No one to come admire her house
No one to tell her that there is a mouse
If people could tell her her eyesight was bad
Then maybe being perfect wouldn't drive her so mad
You see, people would tell her, "Your porch is slanted"
"Look at all the dead flowers you planted"
"What you need is some glasses"
"You've got sugar ants in the masses"
Then she would finally come to realize
That her fretting only caused her to many cries
Then she'd finally set down her dirty rag
Set down the comb that combed her shag
Then her work would finally be done
And she'd realize that she missed having fun.
